[Playful/Energetic] - Generally lighthearted, happy, and filled with energy, Nimet is always wanting to run around and do something with somebody. She is quite literally a social butterfly, with a love for making friends and acquaintances. Her spirited nature can come out in the form of flirtatiousness, but usually just a childish want to play games or get recognition for doing something useful. She particularly enjoys swimming, and has a strange affinity with animals despite being a manakete-- she would spend all day playing with animals rather than people, and wouldn't feel lonely in the least. She almost treats animals like people, and would surround herself with dozens of pets if she could take care of them all.

[Hasty/Brave] - Nimet is quick to run headfirst into trouble, regardless of her chances of winning, just like her mother! She doesn't deal well with the darker truths of war, but masks that with a willingness to face any foe, celebrating when she "wins" and getting angry when someone tries to get the upper hand. Her dragon form gives her more courage, perhaps due to the great increase in strength, and is willing to take on any opponent when she has the might of her dragon self to aid her.

[Bullheaded/Competitive] - Much like a child, Nimet can be stubborn and try to defy authority, and can come off as a bit bossy and competitive herself. Any chore can be turned into a game if it's a competition! She is particularly competitive with other manakete, trying to "dominate" them in one way or another, though when another is deemed as "higher ranking" or "the boss," she is respectful of their rights. She and her brother Jonquille have a little hierarchy going after the loss of their parents, essentially taking turns being the one in charge. When Nimet is the boss, she gets to act like the parent and make decisions... if Jonquille is the boss, he takes over that role. They often go back and forth, but the system works well for them, keeping them on their toes, using up some of their energy, and ensuring that they always look after one another. Other manakete are welcome to join the system, if they think they can command both little manakete at the same time! The siblings might be competitive, but they do know how to team up when they have a common foe... Just be careful when trying to tell Nim to do something. It's best to make it sound fun or like a competition, or else she'll whine that you're being "bossy" and pout the whole time. She also has a tendency to be outright stubborn if she wants something. "I want it and I want it NOW!" Heh. Yeah.

[Mischievous] - A dealer in secrets, Nimet loves knowing little tidbits about people... often things she shouldn't know. She often uses secrets as currency, being willing to do favors for people in return for a little scoop on the recesses of your mind. Maybe you did something you weren't proud of, or you're in love with someone you shouldn't be, or have a weird habit or quirk that you hide well. It doesn't really matter, so long as it's a secret, Nim wants to know! She rarely uses secrets as blackmail, though, nor does she seem to interact differently with people once she knows something about them. It all seems to be for the simple thrill of knowing, rather than sharing. Her obsession with secrets and impeccible memory mean she can recall just about every little detail she knows.

[Naive/Sensitive/Immature] - Being but an infant in manakete years, Nimet can be very childish... She is quick to respond to anger, fear, distress, or threats, often with a stamp of her foot or, worse, tears and downturned ears. She is frankly rather poor at keeping her composure, especially when caught off guard, but can also be easily distracted from her emotions, like a young child. Having her do something that requires a good deal of focus or attention can help fend off the tears when she's in a rough situation... If she isn't in control, she first may become pouty. Then quick-tempered. Then either cry or start yelling. And then Earthquake your sorry ass. She has not learned Outrage for fear of what could happen if she loses her temper. She believes she is still too young to handle it; Nim embraces the fact that she is still but a child in manakete years, and has no desire to accomplish many "adult" things as of yet. She doesn't want to get married anytime wtihin the next century, and has absolutely no interest in children. This doesn't mean she doesn't have the odd crush, sweetheart, or even fall in love... she just doesn't want the adult commitment that comes with it, like starting a family. She does enjoy the cute parts, like cuddles, kisses, pet names, and giving gifts. When she is fond of someone, she shows it.

[Fiercely Loving] - "This is MY brother, and MY best friend, MY FAMILY! AND NOBODY MESSES WITH THEM!" She will shower you with love, protection, gifts, and favors if she has fondness for you! Nimet is virtually unable to function without love in her life, having the need to have close bonds like children do. It doesn't matter where the hierarchy is, because even if she's currently on the bottom, she knows she has a tight-knit group of people who care about her. Just avoid picking on her loved ones, or being at fault if one is hurt or upset... Her hasty nature will make her literally bite you without a second thought.

[Coming into Existence] - Nimet gave her mother a panic attack when she found out she was pregnant. Kayiri was unprepared. In the middle of Valm. And Peregrine believed himself infertile. So, she was a bit of a surprise baby, causing her mother to freak out... and continue to freak out as her pregnancy progressed. Nimet was born in Valm during the Shepherds' travels. (See the stories "Fate Decided" and "Push" for details.) Only a few months after Nimet was born, her mother became pregnant again with her little brother, Jonquille, who was then her parents' last child.

[Loss of her Mother] - Like most of the Shepherds' children, Nimet grew up in the nomadic camp. She was a notorious Daddy's girl, and best friends with Laudine since their toddler years, her energetic personality helping to bring the adopted little girl out of her shell when she found herself living among strangers. Nim used her dragonstone for the first time when she was very young, with Sai as her first teacher-- she wasn't even twelve yet when she started her combat training, working with her stubby-legged little Gible form to make it stronger and evolve, so she would be ready for the battlefield as soon as possible. She didn't mind the training, and really enjoyed practicing alongside the other young manakete. However, devastation came in the form of death when both her mentor and her mother were killed during her early adolescent years... Nimet lost both before ever turning fourteen. The losses were hard, especially with the gruesome manner in which both died, on the battlefield. Fortunately, by this time her father had reclaimed his heritage as a manakete and began to train her and her brother himself, making their bond stronger than before as he became both her only parent and her teacher.

[Loss of her Father] - Her adolescence began in a time of grief, and ended there as well, with the loss of her father to suicide... after being captured by the enemy, Peregrine took his own life with the same blade he had used to kill his wife several years past. Painfully, his death occurred shortly after he admitted to having a part in Kayiri's "mercy killing," and he died before his children could truly forgive him for wha the had done. He took both himself and their mother away, and the two struggled to cope... they became closed off, depressed, angry... a multitude of different stages of anger and grief passed through them. At times, it seemed that the manakete would self-destruct, as Nim succombed to feral rage for the first time, finally snapping and going on a rampage until she was tired out and subdued by some of the other Shepherds. Fortunately, no Shepherd is ever alone... close friendships helped pull her out of her grief, and Nim began to act more like herself, remembering a lesson her mother repeated often. "Be tough. Carry on. The past is gone, but we still have control of the present and influence on the future." So she did. She carried on, moved forward, and refused to give up.

[Body Build] - Slim and dainty, Nimet is just as fairylike as her mother, with a slim waist, delicate limbs, and elegantly proportioned curves. Her feet are proportionally a little small, like her mother's, and she has the pointed ears that are characteristic of most manakete. Her skin is fair and without any naturally-occurring markings, a trait she inherited from her father, but it is silky smooth and hairless everywhere except for her head, like with her mother. She has a slightly higher body temperature than her mother, but still runs a little cool. Like many young manakete, her face is still very youthful, and much to her embarrassment, she has kept her "baby cheeks," her face still a little round and chubby. She hopes this will go away soon, as she finds it quite embarrassing to still have a baby face!

[Hair] - Her hair is thick and shiny like her mother's, but is a dark crimson color like her father's. She usually has it tied back in the same style that her mother wore, except her hair is much longer, reaching down to the bottom of her spine in the back.

[Eyes] - Nimet has her mother's dark red-violet eyes, framed by the thick, stiff eyelashes that are characteristic of her species, being a Finneon. She has average eyesight but can be sensitive to bright lights, and sees exceptionally well when in low-light. She is able to have her eyes open underwater without them stinging, thanks to a secondary, translucent eyelid that covers them when she dives.

[Fins/Gills] - Being of aquatic heritage, Nimet has fins and gills like her mother. She is capable of breathing underwater, and her fins, vaguely like butterfly wings, allow her to swim through water without much effort, and also help her stay airborne for her Bounce attack. All of her clothes are custom because of her fins, either being backless or having straps and things in the back to allow her to put clothes on around her fins, which protrude from her upper and middle back. She has four fins, the larger two being set a little higher, and the secondary, smaller fins set lower. Her gills are located at the sides of her neck, below her ears and jawline. She is shiny, so her fins are tan and pink rather than blue and pink.

[Bioluminescence] - Her bioluminscence isn't as spread out as her mother's, due to her father's genetics, so the only spot on her body that glows are her fins. The pink spots on her fins glow with a bright, rosy light when she is excited, angry, nervous, or about to attack. She can also make them shine at will.

[Dragon Form] - Nimet's dragon form is a quadrupedal, modified Gabite that appears somewhat aquatic, being literally a land shark. She is clumsy in the air and on land, but is surprisingly swift and deadly when underwater or underground. (Reference pending.)

[Education] - Her mother valued education a lot, particularly because she lacked it, so both Nimet and her brother were given the best home educations their parents could provide. Nimet knows several languages, including Feroxi, Ylissean, Plegian, Chon'sin, and Oceanic (her mother's native tongue). She can read, write, and speak in all of these languages, though she is better at Ylissean, Feroxi, and Oceanic than the others. Chon'sin is the most complicated to her, particularly the written characters. While she has a knack for learning languages, she has also been educated a little bit on mathematics, history, philosophy, and a touch of science, though she tends to blame "magic" for scientific things and has little interest in the subject.

[Memory] - Nimet has a nearly photographic memory and an eye for detail. She would notice if a stitch on your shirt was torn, or if one of the buttons on your jacket didn't match the others, and would remember what she had for breakfast a week ago. Her bizarre memory is sometimes useful, and sometimes not, particularly because Nim doesn't always use it to remember things she should... like what chores she is supposed to do on any given day.

[Swimming] - Of course, she's awesome at swimming. If it wasn't obvious. XD She can stay in the water for ages without getting cold, tired, or having her skin start to wrinkle, being adapted to survive underwater.

Other: A tiny snake Nimet took in when she nearly stepped on him while out on a walk. Her general bad luck with snakes made her finally decide to tame one instead of being afraid of them, and she had never seen a green Ekans, so he was chosen to be kept, not to mention that his calm personality made him quick to tame. He is very small, only being about a foot long and weighing all but two pounds. He is usually tucked away in her tent, feeding off of rodents that may get in to try to raid rations or chew through the fabric of clothes or blankets, so he has his uses. When Nimet carries him around, he is often seen wrapped around her forearm, draped along her shoulders, or tucked into a pouch she keeps on her belt. (Don't try to steal her dragonstone off of her, since the pouch she keeps the snake in looks like the one she keeps the stone in! Ouch.) When Nim helps in the kitchen or somewhere things are stored, she brings him along and lets him roam to hunt down rodents there as well. Very docile and unlikely to bite unless provoked. His tail rattles like a rattlesnake's when he feels threatened. He has shiny coloration, so his scales are green-and-yellow.

[Jonquille "Sparrow"] - "My baby brother! Quille is the love of my life right now, and I wanna look after him like Mom used to... I wish he'd let me cuddle him more often, but I guess I should just be grateful that he still lets me share a bed with him at night, so we can at least lay together to sleep. I feel safest when he's with me... it's like he's my other half. I mean, he's been in my life for as long as I can remember, and he's all the family I have left. It doesn't matter what he does, or says, or whether he decides he wants to be an evil dragon overlord or anything. He's my baby brother, and I'll follow him to the ends of the earth!" [Laudine] - "Lau is my best friend, ever since we were really little! She's so smart, and brave, and strong, and pretty! Like, everything good in a person. Sometimes I feel like Lau still sees me as a kid, when she's growing up... and it makes me sad to think that she'll keep growing up and I'll stay the same for a very long time... [Kayiri] - "My Mom... she died when I was thirteen, and Quille took it really hard... I mean, I did, too, but I'm the big one, so... I was tough. Mom taught me to always be strong, and I wanna honor that as much as I can! She'd want her Mey-Mey to carry on and be brave, even if it's hard..." (Nicknames: Mom, Mama, Ma'Mae.)

[Peregrine] - "Oh, Daddy... I miss you so much... You were supposed to be with us forever, or at least, um... a few hundred years. Yeah, at least that... *sniffle* My Daddy took himself and my Mom away, though I only found out about it around the time that he died... No man could ever break my heart worse than my own father did. I love him so much, but... but it hurts so badly to not have my parents around, and to know that it was Daddy's hand that took them both away... I'd give anything to see them again. Gods, take my immortality and just give me my parents back! I don't want to be a manakete if I have to live forever without them! *sob*" (Nicknames: Daddy, Nene.)

- She has a sweet tooth, with Sweet being her favorite flavor and Sour being her least favorite. (Her nature is Hasty. ;3) Some of her favorite sweet things include strawberries, pudding, and caramel, though she doesn't actually get to try these things until going back in time and having them be available.

- Has eaten raw prey since she was a child, and has a stomach of steel. She could probably even eat something Minnie cooked and be okay. XD

- Unsure of her sexuality, but can fall in love with someone of either, or no, gender.

- Was a little bit of a tomboy as a child, but still had patience for girly things because her mother loved to do her hair and such. Has since come to value her femininity more.

- Dresses somewhat modestly, covering a lot of skin, out of respect for her father. He was always protective of her and she chose to maintain habits that he would like her to have, despite him no longer being around to enforce such things.

- "Ma'Mae" is an Oceanic term for "Mama," pronounced Mah-May. She learned it from her mother, as well as "Nene," which is an Ocean term for "Daddy" or "Papa," pronounced Nay-Nay. She sometimes uses those terms of endearment because that is what her own mother called her parents when she was young, though she often just uses "Mom" and "Daddy."
